SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCATES WHO LEARN AS THEY LISTEN

ABOUT HOW'S BUSINESS?

How’s Business? is a listening tour conducted by the Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship (IJ Clinic) to collect entrepreneurs’ stories about what it’s like to do business in the City of Chicago. Through interviews, we capture what’s going well – and what could be going better – for small businesses in the Windy City. We’re conducting these interviews to identify new ideas for building a more business-friendly Chicago. We’re also proud to highlight Chicago’s amazing small business owners who go to such great lengths to bring us the products and services we all love so much.

ABOUT IJ CLINIC

The IJ Clinic provides free legal assistance and advocacy for low income entrepreneurs. We believe that the law should never hold back an entrepreneur with a great dream. As we celebrate our 20th year of service, we’re embarking on the How’s Business? listening tour to record the stories of small business owners in Chicago. We want to launch into our next 20 years by learning more about entrepreneurs’ experiences navigating the law and showcasing stories about the joys and challenges of doing business in Chicago.

About the Show Host

Stacy Massey

How’s Business? is hosted by Stacy Massey. For four years, Stacy led community outreach at the IJ Clinic on Entrepreneurship. In those four years, she got to know entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries who all had one thing in common: crazy tales of city and state regulation. Stacy is currently a law student, but she is proud to moonlight as a small business advocate and How’s Business? host.
